At Livingstone all of our pupils have regular assessments and we keep detailed records tracking pupil progress and attainment from Nursery to Year 6. In the new curriculum all pupils are measured against age specific criteria and throughout the year as to whether or not they have met (EXS), exceeded or are working towards (emerging) the standards.
Please note that there was no SATs assessment last year or this year.
Early Years Foundation Stage Profile

Key Stage 1 SATs
Year 2 children (Key Stage One) have to be assessed in English, Maths and Science. Teachers have to make an assessment of their attainment in line with national expectation for this year group.
The children are teacher assessed across the year and then undertake more formal tests (SATs) in Maths and English.

Key Stage 2 SATs
Year 6 children (Key Stage Two) have to take national SATs tests in English (reading, grammar, punctuation, spelling and maths). The tests are sent to external markers and their scores combined with teacher assessments. Teachers in Year 6 make an assessment of the children’s progress in writing and science. At the end of the year the school receives a combined score for each child which will indicate their attainment in line with national expectations for this year group.
