At Livingstone has developed its woodland area into an outdoor classroom and Forest School, providing pupils with valuable opportunities for hands-on learning in a natural environment. The Forest School takes place both in our own grounds such as our pond area and the local woods.
This is a fantastic opportunity that enables the children to explore the outside world through a programme of fun and exciting outdoor activities.
Our children have the opportunity to:
- identify man-made and natural objects
- sort objects into categories
- play games e.g. ‘my tree, your tree’
- recognise and name woodland objects
- learn about woodland creatures and insects (even spot a reindeer if we're lucky)
- learn about lake wildlife
- make potions/mud pies
- build dens
- go on a treasure hunt and much more
