February Week 1

Friday 3rd February

Next week is Safer Internet Day and we have moved our Assembly to 2.45 on Friday to enable parents/carers to come in and see some of the work produced by the different classes. Please ask to speak to Ms Nicholson if you would like more information on the subject. To help us with numbers, please complete the slip below and return to the office.

It is very important to us that we maintain good communication with our parents so if you have ideas on how to  improve this area, please speak to our parents reps or leave a suggestion at the office. We must insist however, that parents/carers who would like to have an extended discussion with the class teacher make a formal appointment, as it is detrimental to the whole class, if time is demanded from the teacher before and after school, especially on a daily basis. Keep us informed about your child/ren and let us know your concerns, but keep it brief.

Due to problems with our boilers, we have had difficulties heating the school this week. Thank you to all our parents/carers, especially those with Nursery pupils who helped us manage the situation with the minimum impact. The boilers are now back to full working order.

Parent Governor Elections are being arranged as we need to elect 1 parent governor.    If you wish to seek nomination as an elected Parent Governor, please collect a nomination form from the school office.  This form needs to be completed with an accompanying personal statement of no more than 150 words and returned by 12 noon on Thursday 10th Feb 2017.

Following a successful AGM we can announce that the PTA has elected two co-chairs until September 2017. Catherine Baker and Kerry Warner will work alongside Becky McMahon (existing treasurer) and Maria Stephens (existing secretary) as the official PTA committee. However, the group will continue to run as a consortium with everyone taking equal responsibility to keep it running. This has proven to be a productive way to keep our PTA thriving.

Please check the newsletter for PTA events. The next event is the Spring Ball on Friday 3.3.17. Help is needed for both sessions (especially the KS2 disco which is after school). If you are able to donate some time to help at the discos or tidy up please let Catherine know either directly, through the WhatsApp group or via the school office. Many thanks.
