Parent Representation Meeting

Parents asked about the cost of the Year 5 trip to the Golden Hinde (£18) original cost (£25)

Response: The school chooses trips carefully to enhance the education of the pupils. Commercial venues such as Harry Potter are expensive. However, to ensure that our pupils enjoy the best educational experiences we always provide subsidies for these trips. In addition, any parents/carers can speak to the office if they experiencing financial difficulties and payments can be made in installments.

Parents asked about the Golden Kilometre.

Response: Livingstone are running lots of initiatives to raise the fitness levels of our pupils. We have some of highest participation rates in physical activities and this was recognized through the Gold PE award. All pupils do cross country and we are looking to add a school run later in the year.

Parents asked about the homework and if it is possible to ensure that it is age appropriate for each year group.

Response: It is very difficult to match homework to each individual child in any year group because abilities vary. The homework the school sets aims to be as age appropriate as possible and within the guide lines of the national curriculum. The new homework allows the flexibility to address this. We will be reviewing its impact at the end of the academic year.

Parents asked for the gate to be opened earlier to avoid a log jam at the end of the school day.

Response: The playground gate opens at 3:10 so that activities in the playground are finished before we allow access.

Suggestion for the future: the P.T.A will provide an information sheet detailing P.T.A events,  ways of donating and helping for parents new to the school

Parents have commented and are pleased with the healthy workshops the school is embracing.

The library is open for parents on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:40 to 9:00 and Mrs Armstrong will be available to change books.
