February Week 1

Friday 6th February

Movie Night Excitement!

Every year the school council hosts a movie night to raise money for the school and charity. At movie night, all the children get hot chocolate and popcorn! This year the school are doing something extra special that we have never done before, normally any person or group that wants to are allowed to make things to sell before, after and during the movie. This year each class will come up with something to make and sell it to raise money. Nursery are making gingerbread, Reception are making dojo monsters, Yr 1 are making playdough, Yr 2 are making fairy craft, Yr 3 are making bracelets and anything that involves beads, Yr 4 are making wind chimes, Yr 5 are making scented candles and Yr 6 are making craft packs. The movie choices were chosen by the school council and were short listed to four: Ratatouille, Zootropolis 1, Lilo and Stitch and Dog Man. The rest of the school voted on the movie and the winner was... Zootropolis 1! The movie night will be held on 13th of February on the last week of term. Everyone is buzzing about it and is so excited. Thank you for everyone who put this together!

Years 3 and 4 Recorder Assembly

Today we were treated to a wonderful recorder assembly by Year 4 and Year 3 (hosted by Mark). Year 4 played many classics including Round the Square and Heart Will Go On (from the Titanic). Year 3 did a tremendous job at Hot cross Buns and everyone's absolute favourite We Will Rock You which they did a rocking job (get it ha- ha). Overall they did an excellent job with a huge thanks to Mark to organising this exceptional concert.

Year 4 trip to the Natural History Museum

On Wednesday, the 3rd of February, Year 4 went to the Natural History Museum. But there was one different thing... they used the tube! The children arrived at 8:30 at Cockfosters Station where Miss Breen, Mr Madle, Miss Armstrong and Miss Arnold were waiting for them. The journey to South Kensington took around an hour and when they arrived, they walked had to walk a short distance to the museum. They had a workshop about volcanoes in which the children learned about the different types. They also explored the Earthquakes and Volcanoes section where they got to go on an epic earthquake simulator. And as they were at the Natural History Museum they checked out the dinosaurs. Thank you to all the great teachers who helped make this amazing trip happen.

Ukulele and Guitar Assembly

Last Thursday, Edward Partridge (one of our former students) held a Ukulele and guitar assembly by the Year 4 s. The first group was Gino, Mattias and Philip. The first song was Soda Pop from K-Pop Demon Hunters. They played exceptionally well. The second group was Daisy, Navani and Aysha. They also played Soda Pop and it was amazing and Pink Pony Club was played by both groups. Playing the guitar was Ryan and Skye, who were group one, and Christina and Taha who all played Another One Bites the Dust and Confess your Love. It was very entertaining!

Who is the member of staff?

Can anyone help identify the staff member in this photo? They’re a former Livingstone pupil and a fantastic reminder of how important school sport is in shaping our pupils.

Mixed League Football vs Underhill

On the 2nd of February the mixed football team played in a cup game against Underhill they had to win by 5 goals or more to be tied 1st in the league (with Churchhill) but unfortunately, they failed to score the 5 goals but they still managed to win the match with a fortunate 2-1 victory. The first goal was scored by Leon (our striker) and was assisted by Dotty (our midfielder) in the first half. In the second half we scored again and like the first goal it was scored by Leon but was assisted by Elsie (our left winger). This led to us winning by 2 goals but Underhill got a corner and crossed it into the box and then scored leading to a 2-1 victory to Livingstone. We didn't manage to score the 5 goals but we still managed to win the match to stay in the league.

The Pokemon Cup

Since we won our Power League in October, we went to the next round - which was the Pokemon cup. On this day, we came into school at 8:30 so that we would not be late. Once all the schools had arrived, all the school, coaches and referees came in and told us all the rules. Then we played our first match.

Our first match was against Ark Franklin, even though it was our first match we soon adjusted to the new rules (kick-ons instead of throw-ins and that the ball had to start on the ground) Elsie soon scored our first goal. We defended well and we kept the score 1-0 to end the match. Our second match was against Newham. They were a strong team with a few good players. This match unfortunately ended 0-0. Our next game was against Maple Walk. This game was also 0-0. Our 4th game was against Wolfson Hilal and we drew 1-1 and with them and the last kick of the game they scored. In the quarter finals we played against the team who was at the top of the leaderboard and we won 1-0 but we still stayed 2nd in the leaderboard (sadly). our next game was against Wolfson Hilal again because they won there other match. We drew 0-0 so we went onto penalties and won 2-1. In the finals we played a really strong team and they had a really good player that always booted the ball up the pitch and saved their team from losing 5-0, we won 1-0 and everyone played amazingly.

Well Done girls!👍
