School Closure
2nd Jan 2021
Dear Parent/Carers,
As you may have seen in the news, Livingstone is one of the primary schools that has had to remain closed due to the rise of COVID cases in London.
As Monday is an INSET day, the teachg teams are using the day to prepare a programme of online classes for pupils who are having to stay at home. So any family who need a laptop or tablet to access online learning materials will needmto contact the school and arrange a time to collect one.
Teachers will be sending home timetables setting out a programme of study consisting of live contact sessions and pre-recorded lessons. Pupils in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be expected to follow the timetable closely and post their work online using Teams. The pupils have practised this so should be able to work relatively independently.
Pupils in the younger year groups will also be expected to follow the timetable, but, as they will require more parental support, they can post their work periodically via the VLE.
All pupils should have their logins and passwords but staff will be available to provide support both with the work and with any technical issues.
Pupils in designated categories -- SEND, vulnerable children, and the children of key workers -- are able to return to school. We have started to compile a list of key worker pupils requiring places and parents/carers of pupils in these
categories will be contacted by staff on Monday to confirm their allocated place. Please send an email to the office, if you have not already done so, to request a place. Pupils who come under these categories will be taught in Keystage bubbles and they will follow the online educational programme from school.
Finally, our current understanding is that the school will remain closed for two weeks and we await for further advice from the government as to when the school can reopen.
Happy New Year and lets hope for a quick return to normality.
