March Week 1
Friday 06th March
The Coronavirus is affecting everyone globally, therefore our response to the outbreak is based on advice given at government level. So far we have implemented everything we have been asked to do, which means pupils are washing their hands at regular intervals. We have cancelled the trip to the Buddhist Temple and are reviewing all future trips and events on the basis of advice given.

Trip to British Museum to find out about life in Ancient Greece.
Year 4 went to the British Museum to take part in an artefact session to find out about what life was like in Ancient Greece. In tables, we looked at recounts, pictures, replica artefacts and pottery to give us a recount about life in Ancient Greece. We even took part in freeze frames to show: the role of women, what people did for hobbies and what it was like to be an athlete. After, we got to explore some galleries around the museum.
Welcome to Mrs Slater who has joined Year 1 to complete her Teacher Training. She is on an exchange with Ms Kiazim who is also training to be a teacher.
Year 4 Football Club
On Wednesday 2nd March, children from the year 4 football club represented Livingstone at Friern Barnet Powerleague. The children were eager and excited to put on our kit and wear our badge proudly! They played a total of 5 games winning two and drawing one. Well done to Maisie, Amie, Sinan, Ged, Freddie, Charlie, Tyler and Louis.

KS2 Netball Intra-house
We are very lucky with our P.E curriculum at Livingstone and to integrate some healthy friendly competition, children competed in our second intra-house of the year, netball! KS2 learnt about net games in the last academic term and to round of their learning they were put into their colour teams to take part in some match style games. All of the points were collated together to give us an overall winner. With 12 points was the red team. With 20 points was the blue team. With 32 points was the green team so with 39 points the yellow team won! The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in the netball match and it was a great afternoon.
Barnet Cup League

Livingstone played in the quarter final in the Barnet Cup League against Sacred Heart. The boys have played extremely well in this league and we are very proud of them for getting this far. It was a tense match where the children gave it everything they had with some great potential shots, however, the game ended 2-0. We have one more match left in a different league so good luck boys! Well done to Ryley, Samy, Harry.L, Aedan, Adam, JJ, Kiah, Malachi and Jordan.
World Book Day, a fantastic effort, and some of the best costumes ever!
On Thursday 5th, we celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite book characters; being read to by different teachers; buddy reading with different year groups; and having an 'author-meets-artist' Art day. Some children also created a 'Book-in-a-Box' project. The children looked fantastic in their costumes and have shown a real love of reading - thank you to everyone who made our Book Day a success!
