May Week 1
Friday 5th May
Year 6’s tests will run for a week starting on Monday and during this time it is essential for children to be in school every day and on time. The children have worked very hard preparing for these tests and need to have a good breakfast each morning, a good night’s sleep and avoid being stressed so that they can perform to the best of their ability on the day. To help with this, we have opened up the Breakfast Club to Pupils in Year 6 free of charge so please ensure that they are in school on time. (Siblings are welcome to join them).
Please ensure that ‘Fidgets’ which are currently in fashion are kept at home as we are having to remind pupils that they cannot be used in class as they are very distracting to everyone.
On Tuesday afternoon, 13 children from Year 1 and 2 went to the Teddy Bears picnic at Allianz Park. While there, the children took part in different multi-skills activities, met the famous Saracens Teddy Bear, Sarrie the Camel, and had a lovely picnic with their teddy bears. The Children all enjoyed their different activities; Teddy Bears washing, Teddy Bear Tidy up, Teddy Bear relay and many more. All of the children said they had a lovely time, especially when Mr Gardner and Diane had to join in.
On Thursday 4th May year 4 and 5 had a football match against Ladbrooke School. In the first half they scored a goal. But luckily, in the second half Henry scored to equalise, so it was 1-1.The next goal was scored by Charlie assisted by Henry. So the match ended 2-1 to Livingstone school. Everyone played really well but unfortunately Gehan didn’t have a shot to save because Mohammad and William defended so well. Team – Jack C, Bradley, Joe, William, Billy, Henry, Elijah, Harvey (year 5) Charlie, Gehan, Kacper and Mohammad (year 4) Match report by Kacper and Mohammad.
Please ensure that girls do not come into school wearing leggings as leggings are not part of school uniform. Summer dresses of an appropriate length are to be worn with socks. If parents prefer legs to be covered, then they need to provide school uniform trousers.
A full PE kit must be kept in school at all times to enable pupils to participate safely in PE. From September we will remove the option of wearing leisure clothing to the after school clubs if this continues to impact on PE. Every time we try to do a PE lesson there are a growing number of pupils who are not bringing in full kit.
To help parents ensure pupils come in the correct PE kit, we will be selling it at a reduced price for the rest of the summer term. Look out for the promotional leaflet next week. From September plimsolls will be replaced by black trainers. We will also be introducing a fleece for September as an outer garment to be worn as a coat or when participating in outdoor learning and sporting activities.
