Friday 12th February 2016
Book week starts after half term when we get back and there are lots of activities planned over the week but over the holiday we are setting everyone a challenge. Are you an Extreme Reader?
We are inviting you ALL to take the Livingstone Extreme Reading Challenge.
Think about different, exciting, fun and SAFE places you can enjoy a book. Ask an adult to take a photograph of you reading your book in your ‘extreme’ place.
Bring your Extreme Reading Challenge photograph to school on Monday 22nd February to enter the challenge and possibly win a prize!
Also, don’t forget to look through your book collection as we will be holding our annual book-swap on Friday 26th February. Please bring in a book you no longer need on the day and swap it for something you prefer.
Please check the dates for Impact meetings next term. The aim of these sessions is to inform parents of methods that they can use at home to support their child/ren but also to provide an opportunity to work alongside their child at school. The sessions have proved extremely successful in the past with a good turnout of parents and we received really positive feedback. So please if you can, come to one of the sessions. To try to fit in with working commitments we are running sessions at the beginning and end of the day.
Mathsletics - Great news from the Spring 1 Term. We have achieved an amazing 153 mathsletics certificates that were awarded in today's assembly. A special mention must go to Aimee, Athena, Joel, Laura, Maisie, Victor, Lily and Emily from Reception who achieved their first bronze certificates. We also had Mahek, Jim, Lily B, Jack C, Shivani and Monjola who received gold certificates. We hope to see a number of certificates achieved during half term.
Thank you to everyone who helped at the disco. The effort put in by the PTA is appreciated by everyone, especially all the pupils who love this event! The disco made over £400 including money made by the enterprise stall run by year 4. This was also a great success and money raised is going towards end of year trips. Thank you to Diane for her life-skills work with the Y4 pupils.
