February Week 2

Friday 9th February

The Christmas Fair was an outstanding success and we made about £4000. Thank you to all the pupils, parents, staff and friends of the school who helped and attended. The effort put in by the PTA who organised the event was phenomenal and their work was very much appreciated. We hope to use the money raised to improve the playground facilities in the school and the stage lighting.

Parents/carers who kindly donated cakes for the Coffee Morning and Christmas Fair please come to the office and collect plates, Tupperware and tins.

dB_primary

Parents/carers DB Primary VLE gives pupils access to homework and activities on their computers. Pupils will still get homework in the usual way but DB Primary is an additional ICT resource which ,like Bug Club and Mathletics, enables pupils to consolidate or extend their learning. Parents/carers can gain access via their child/ren login details and those who missed out on the information leaflet can get a copy from the office. Access is carefully monitored and pupils have had sessions at school to ensure that they use the internet safely and responsibly. Please pick up the leaflet and feel free to visit the ICT suite for more information and a chance to trial the sessions. The suite will be open on Friday 20th Jan at 8.45 and 3.00pm and everyone is welcome.

Miss Purse who has completed her training in Year 2E. We thank her for her excellent work with all the pupils.

Year 3 Road Safety

Year 3 Road Safety Training last week was looking at behaviours that contain a sequence of actions in order to help us go about everyday activities.  Pupils took part in looking at a variety of sequences including the Green Cross Code and crossing between parked cars. Key safety areas were raised for discussion including behaviour, distractions, concentration of drivers and pedestrians, the wearing of seat belts, crossing roads, speed and stopping distances.

Good Causes

Everyone has been exceptionally generous in their donations this year and have supported all our causes. We collected £316 for Children in Need, with Year 6 bringing in the most amount. We also made a record £340 with our Advent Calendar Raffle and this fantastic amount will be shared between the school and a charity. Thank you for your valued support.
