January Week 2

 Friday 15th January

96% is the New Attendance Expectation for all pupils.

The attendance and punctuality of some pupils is currently a cause for concern especially with the revised standard of attendance.  To minimise the impact on learning, where possible please arrange medical appointments early in the morning or for late afternoons so that your child can still come into school and please do not keep siblings at home if one is ill.  Each week classes with the best attendance are given £1 which they can put towards an end of year treat. Please ensure that if you are thinking of booking a holiday you look carefully at the dates as we will not be authorising any holiday leave during term time.

Easter Activity Camp 2016

Following the success of our Summer Activity Camp last year and as part of our extended hours service we are
delighted to announce that we will be running an activity camp during the Easter holidays.

The Easter Activity Camp will run for 9 days from Tuesday 29th March – Friday 8th April 2016 and will be open from 8.30am – 5.30pm. Half day and full day sessions are available for booking.

Throughout the 9 days, a timetable of fun activities will be on offer for children to take part in and will include outings/trips within the local area. Children will need to bring a snack and packed lunch of their own for full day bookings and just a snack for half day bookings.

Registration and booking along with payment will be required before Friday 12th February 2016 to secure a place.  Please find below details of fees.

Year 5 / 6 Football – The Yr 5/6 football team played at Powerleague on Wednesday. The teams we played were tall and strong but we were confident. We had some hard matches but managed to get to the semi finals even though we lost to Summerside. The good news is that we qualified for the Borough Finals in February (Written by Jerom Yr5)– Team Urgur, Danny B, Jerom, Arda, Charlie C, Illinois, Dylan, Ozkan and Emmanuel.

We had our second parent rep meeting this Friday and we discussed lots of suggestions. The minutes will be going up on the noticeboard.

And finally, we had two camera teams in school today, one filming Numbershark  a computer programme being used in our ICT Suite and Channel 5 News about School Admissions. So check out the news at 5 o’clock this evening and they may use some of the footage they've filmed.
