March Week 2

Friday 13th March

Well done to the Year 6 pupils who went to the Barnet Schools Dance Festival at the Artsdepot North Finchley. Lauren, Diane, and Mrs Armstrong spent ages doing hair and  make up to ensure that all the children made a fantastic impression on the stage and a very special thank you goes to Mrs Koka, Jana’s mother, who offered her hairdressing skills to give our pupils an incredibly professional finish.

The pupils behaved impeccably throughout the day and were a credit to our school. Miss Breen, Mrs Speed, Mrs Church, Mrs Phelan and all the parents/carers were very proud of their fantastic dance.

And finally, the biggest thank you goes to Lauren Madden, our dance teacher, who did an amazing job preparing a very complicated dance routine. We saw a spectacular performance, which will never be forgotten and which was worthy of the West End Stage!

Parents wishing to buy a copy of the DVD will need to place an order with the office.

Coronavirus News

Based on the latest government news conference, we are keeping up the handwashing and we are cancelling the trip to Paris. All other trips are being evaluated and no further trips are being booked.

Please do not send children into school if they are unwell and self-isolate as recommended in the Coronavirus health guidelines if anyone in your family has the symptoms or has been tested positive and finally, let the school know.

We have received no other information from the government or the Local Authority with regard to possible school closures and therefore will remain open until further notification.

However, given the situation globally, we are preparing the school for possible closure by putting in place resources that would enable pupils to continue working at home.

This weekend please ensure that your child can access the VLE and educational programs such as Mathletics and TT Rockstars using their logins.

If you have limited or no access to the internet please inform the office so that if the school is closed alternative learning materials can be provided.

Please ensure that your contact details are up to date so that the school can contact you by text or by email. Please let the office know of any changes and if you have problems with any pupil logins.

12.3 Tag Rugby London Youth Games

We have been working extremely hard with our tag rugby team this year and the children’s hard work has not gone unnoticed as Livingstone were selected to represent the borough of Barnet at the London Youth Games. The day consisted of rugby activities in the morning which led to matches in the afternoon. Our Y5 team proudly represented our school and the borough where they modelled all of our key values.  Well done to Eleni, Gabriella, Jacob, Jordan, Kal-El, Adon, Taif, Arbri, Sammie, Scarlett, Lillie and Aiden.

Week commencing 9th March- Sports Relief

What a week! We have been non-stop with all of our sporting activities ranging from hula hooping, skipping and dancing. If you go onto our school twitter, you can even see our yoga session. It has been great to see how many children have got involved with our challenge to help fundraise for the wonderful cause, Sports Relief. Please don’t forget to hand in your sponsorship form to the office on Monday 16th March. Thank you to everyone who took part and helped raise money for charity

Year 1 D and T skills

Year 1 have been learning how to cut, chop and peel different fruits and vegetables all week in D and T.

This afternoon at 1.00 we invited the parents in to taste all the delicious dishes that we had created.

The meal was a great success and we hope the children will continue to practice their D and T skills at home
