November Week 2
Friday 11th November
Please may I remind parents that fashion boots and multi-coloured tights are not part of school uniform. If it snows and your child comes into school wearing boots, please make sure they have shoes or plimsolls to change into. We are still finding unnamed uniform, so please remember it is very important to label all items of clothing. As the weather gets colder children will be starting to wear vests, hats and scarves, so it is important that these are labelled as well.
Please also remember that PE is part of the curriculum and so it is also important to ensure that your child brings in a full kit and leaves it in school. Parents will be contacted if pupils routinely forget to bring kit into school and we may have to consider recording missed PE lessons on end of term reports.
PTA News- Thank you to all parents who helped at the Monster Ball last week. It was a real success and we managed to make £452 profit. Next year the PTA will be investigating what is needed in the school and how the money will be used to benefit the pupils. Thank you to those who volunteered to have an estate agent board to advertise the fair. Please keep those raffle prizes coming, we have had some amazing donations already.
HELP is needed on the day of the fair. Please sign up on the board which will be at the school gate after school or complete the slip at the back of the newsletter.
Reminder Friday 18th November will be a day supporting Children In Need where children are invited to wear the ‘Pudsy’ accessories and a special assembly will be held for pupils to bring in and donate as much small change as they can. The class that raises the most will be rewarded with extra golden time!!
Mathsletics – from September the children in our school have achieved 206 certificates in Mathsletics. This is a huge achievement! Well done to Kiera, Mahek, Alexandros, Mahi, Jana, Lily B, Daniel B, Mohammed, Nicholas and Shivani for earning gold certificates this term. Our top 3 Mathletes are Advay (51,109), Jahsh (45,927) and Mohammed (28,746). Mathletics is a great online resource that the school provides for every child at Livingstone. If you are unsure of your child’s log in and password then see your child’s class teacher. We have booked a free bowling trip for the top 25 Mathletes in December.
