The Monsters Ball

Every year we have a Halloween party to get us in the spooky mood at Livingstone. It takes a different name every year - this year it is the Monsters ball! It is always full of shops, music, games and FUN! Everyone came to Halloween costume. Then we had a sensory trail and got sprayed with soap and silly string! Then we got to go to the Halloween shop and by lots of spooky things with money from home. Then finally we had the monsters ball disco ending the day with a good dance! Thank you to all the people that made this happen.

Parents Evening

This week, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, all teachers from nursery to Year 6 had to speak to their students’ parents. They talked about the children's behaviour, their attitude towards learning, and how they have settled in. This can be very stressful for the children because we don’t know what the teachers will say about us (although I’m not worried, I’m always behaved brilliantly). Most of us were well behaved (some better than others) but overall, the teachers were really impressed. IT'S FINALLY OVER!

Year 2 Great Fire of London Workshop

Year 2 were so excited for their Great Fire of London workshop (unlike me when I was in year 2) . They enjoyed it so much ( so did I) ; they learned how it started in a small bakery (yum) in Pudding (double yum) Lane and that it started in 1666. there were no firefighters so they had to try to put the fire out themselves and all of the houses were made of wood (of course we'd never be that dumb) that's what helped the fire spread. The year 2s enjoyed the actors role play the story.

New Reception and Nursery Pupils

A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of welcoming new pupils to our school. Most of them have come into reception and nursery!! Year 6 also has two new students. They've made new friends, joined the Livingstone family and are having loads of fun in their new classroom. Although the school might seem scary at first, you can always see their smiles around. From running around in big PE, to sitting quietly in class they've had it all. Thank you to Mrs Mills and Miss Papas for helping our new students flourish!

We are so excited for PGL (Parents Get Lost)

PGL is in 1 week. YES! Y6 are very excited and we also have lots of questions (that I think our teachers are a bit sick of). The only problem is, that it takes ages to get there. Livingstone children and staff have been going there for many years and hopefully many more. We are all excited to try all the different activities PGL has to offer, such as climbing and giant swings. And don't worry parents, we will be very safe. The activities will help with our self motivation, our self confidence, our independence, our teamwork skills and hopefully make our friendships stronger. We have so many great things lined up for us. But I think we all know the best part of it; we are allowed to bring SWEETS! We can't wait!

Music at Livingstone

Music has always been great fun at Livingstone 😀!

Livingstone offers a range of different instruments for a range of different skill levels such as:

Piano (by Mrs Boldy)

Clarinet (by Mrs Boldy)

Electric guitar ( by Edward)

Ukulele (by Edward)

Sometimes (if you have music on a Wednesday) you might be asked to try out boom wackers, drums or a glockenspiel. After school - on Thursdays - Mrs Margett's runs a choir for those in KS2. At the end of the year the people that attend choir, who are in Year 4 and above, go to the Arts Depot. Also we normally hold 2 clarinet and piano assemblies and 2 guitar and ukulele.

Year 5 Trip to River Lea

A couple of weeks ago, Year 5 visited the River Lea in Enfield to learn about the river. We learned about its meanders (the outside always goes faster than the inside), its navigation, and we looked at birds at the watchtower. In the morning, we looked at what we could see in or on top of the river and drew sketches of parts of the river. Then we went back and took a photo. After that, we had lunch for about half an hour then we went into the bird tower to look to see the birds that were outside on the lake.

Year 6 Shakespeare Workshop

Year 6 had a visit from the Young Shakespeare company. They acted a play called Romeo and Juliet one of Shakespeare's most popular plays. They were many funny scenes such as when Romeo came to the party at the wearing a spider man suit. At the end of play, we all agreed it was a fun experience for everybody including our teacher who laughed at some scenes. It was truly an unforgettable experience for everyone. Even though there were so many characters involved they managed to change costumes swiftly with only with four people!

Harvest Assembly

Yesterday, we watched the harvest assembly by the year 4s. They and KS2 sung cauliflowers fluffy and the ks1 sung conkers. We all brought in harvest donations that are going to a food bank for people who need it. They did a bit of acting about how grateful they are about what food they got. It was a really good assembly and thoughtful. Thank you for all the donations because they're going to a good cause.
