Keeping Safe on Devices

-nu5lqWulzmlpD

It is very important that all parents and carers monitor the use of their child/ ren's devices such as mobile phones, laptops, iPads etc. Even the youngest children in our school have been talking about inappropriate cartoon characters that are quite scary. Please speak to any older siblings about showing their younger family members age related material only.

Nursery

Nursery have really enjoyed Forest School this week. They particularly enjoyed using the watering jug to see how the water travels through the pipes and talking about recycling water. The children also really enjoyed using the interactive hardware board and looking for fish and bugs in the pond.

Kingfisher Nursery

Welcome back Kingfisher Nursery!

We've had a lovely start to our Summer Term. We have been exploring the life- cycle of a frog, looking at the stages as a tadpole to eventually becoming a frog. We sang the song '5 Little Speckled Frogs' and counted back from 5 to 1, removing a frog from our log each time. We followed this by making our own speckled frog using sponges and pipets!

We finished our week with an adventure to the pond area on to look for tadpoles!

A fantastic (and very busy!) first week back in Reception class this week. We have consolidated our learning and had lots of fun on our class trip to Aldenham Country Park this week. We enjoyed observing and feeding lots of different farm animals and then also visited the 100 Aker Woods to look for Winnie the Pooh and other characters. A lovely way to start the term!

The whole of Reception class for their fantastic behaviour on our trip to Aldenham! We are so proud of your maturity.

Year 1

Welcome back Year 1!

In Maths, we have revisited counting in 2s and 5s, and have moved on to counting in groups of 10.

In English, we have focused on the story of ‘Billy’s Bucket’. We have enjoyed developing our own ideas about what creatures could be in our own buckets and writing sentences with a focus on correct punctuation (capital letters, finger spaces and full stops).

All children have been exceptionally focused and hardworking this week.

Well done Year 1!
