The School Choir are performing at St James Church this Saturday. Go support them, they are due to sing around 11am. There are lot of Easter activities planned throughout the day which will be fun. By Uvasri (Yr5)

On Wednesday 7th March, Year 6 performed at the Arts Depot. They danced amazingly to ‘Stick it to the Man’ from School of Rock. It was sharp and well-practiced thanks to their choreographer Lauren. She spent a lot of her time making sure it looked polished. William and Bradniel introduced the dance while later in the performance, Henry and Tida made a very dramatic guitar and piano solo. Overall, they did the school proud.

By Jack C (Yr6 – who also went).

School Competition

The writers are not happy with the name of the Newsletter, we want suggestions for a new name! Please give the suggestions to either Mr Madle or your class teacher by the 29th March. The winner will receive an amazing prize!

The 'Reception Fit bag'

In Reception, there are three fit bags. Each bag contains the same equipment: Beanbags, quoits, egg and spoon race equipment; a sports camera to take photos of them playing with it and many others. Beanbags are useful for throwing, which develops pupils throwing skills, muscles and hand-eye co-ordination. Quoits help in accuracy for aiming and controlled sped. Egg and spoon race equipment help building up the skills of balancing concentration and multi-tasking. The starts of the week get to take a fit bag home for the weekend. This is a true privilege to honour the child’s hard work.

World Book Week

Monday 26th February 2018 was the beginning of World Book Week. The classes did book themed things through-out the week. The main event was on Thursday, when everyone came as a character from a book, including teachers. Two children from each class were chosen by their teachers. The two children that had the best outfits received a prize.

The Livingstone staff had also prepared other activities, such as a book swap, which Mrs Armstrong held. The children brought in books that they had got bored of, which were in good condition to swap for another book - this meant everyone that had brought in a book left with a new one.

On Friday, everyone did partner reading, where the older children read to the younger classes. Luckily, many kids were very enthusiastic about this and enjoyed this activity to try to help Early Years and KS1 to enjoy reading, especially choosing funny and exiting books. By Sophia (Year 5)

Inter School Cross Country

KS2 house teams went head to head in an exciting event this week. On Thursday afternoon, a school cross country competition took place on the field. All the teams did very well but Blue came out on top, with Green in second, Yellow third and Red in fourth place.

Girls and boys from each year group had their own races. Everyone gave it their best efforts and there were some exciting finishes. Lots of parents came along to support which was much needed with the wet conditions making the going very muddy. By Billy (Yr6)

World Down-syndrome Day

Next week is Autism Awareness Week and ON THURSDAY 29TH March, the pupils can wear ‘Odd Socks’ to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day.

An adorable video has been put together by a group of mums in England to showcase their children with Down Syndrome and this has gone viral – check it out on #wouldntchangeathing
