March Week 3
Friday 15th March
Science Week ended on a high note when Jenny Davies, Polar explorer, talked about her incredible attempt at breaking the World Record of reaching the South Pole single-handed.
She had an amazing story to tell and was truly inspirational! The children listened intently and asked lots of relevant questions. Jenny is planning to return to school soon to take part in some Science and Geography lessons
Thank you for the support on Red Nose Day!
Well done to all the Year 6 pupils who performed ‘Aladdin’ at the Dance Festival – they were spectacular! Thank you goes to our dance teacher Lauren, Diane and Mrs Armstrong who prepared them on a very tight schedule. Parents wishing to buy a copy of the DVD will need to place an order with the office.
Effects of Plastic on the Enviroment
Isabella, Karolina and Naomi presented an amazing assembly on the effects of plastic on the environment. Pupils in EYFS and KS1 have been asked to enter a poster completion to stop over-use of plastics. Whilst KS2 are going to compete in a school litter pick.
Fun Sporting Event
On Thursday, children from Years 1 and 2 were selected to take part in a fun sporting event involving their favourite teddy! This event was designed to inspire children to get active and take part in a range of engaging activities. As you can tell from all the smiles, the children had a blast!
Tag Rugby
Tag Rugby –we took a large squad to play a league fixture against Brunswick Park. We started really well scoring tries whenever we had the ball and it was 5 – 5 at half time. In the second half, we made quite a few mistakes but tagged really well. The final score was 7 – 6 to Brunswick. Also, Jack played the whole game with a broken knuckle! Tries were scored by Riley (2), Darina, Luke (2) and Sarah. By Luke (Yr6)
Squad – Charlie, Luke, Sarah, Darina, Shyam, Daisy, Roxy, Zoe, Omar, Alfie, Isaiah, Jack, Riley
