Parent Rep Meeting
We had our first Parent Rep meeting today and we have had lots of feedback about the start of the year. Please let us know if you would like to come along to the next meeting. We are looking for new representatives for the Reception Class, so please come forward and join us next week.
Homework has been changed this year and we have had lots of feedback on the new approach. The changes were made to add more creativity and enhance the learning experience of the pupils. We will take on board all of the suggestions and see how we can find a way to make it work for all pupils.
We had lots of questions on school dinners and packed lunches, so in the next week, a letter will go out which we hope will answer most of the queries. We will also send out details on how to sign up to sample a lunch.
SCHOOL CLUBS
CABIN Club runs every single school day from 3.15-5.45 and costs £2.50 for Breakfast and £7.00 for After School
Activity Clubs – Start the week after half-term and cost between £3.00 and £4.00. These have to booked and paid for in advance in half termly blocks. E.g. Drama and Dance
Netball, Tag Rugby and Football (5 and 6) Clubs for are free and are linked to our sporting competitions and events. Pupils practise with a coach, teacher or TA.
Challenge Clubs are free of charge and are linked to English and Maths. They are used to ensure that pupils meet their expectations (Working AT and Working at Greater Depth. They start in the second week of each half term and pupils who are chosen to attend receive a letter home.
IMPACT MEETINGS
If you would like the opportunity to experience a class lesson and would like to understand how pupils are taught the curriculum, come along to the Year Group Impact meetings. During the sessions, Teachers will deliver typical lessons and you will get to do ‘Warm’, ‘Hot’ and ‘Spicy’ Tasks. You will be able to learn the latest terminology and see the resources we use. Parents who cannot attend due to other commitments can send a carer or catch up with the teacher at consultations the week before half term.
Please remember if your questions cannot wait, speak to the office and make an appointment. We may not be able to see you immediately but we will do so as soon as we can. Dates for Reception, KF1 and KF2 Impact will follow.
