World Book Day - 2025

Friday 7th March

Every year, we strive to make Book Week a highlight, and this year was no different. We organised a Mystery Book Swap, Buddy Reading, Performance Poetry recitals, and dressing up. On Thursday, everyone came in costume, and at the assembly, we not only admired the amazing outfits but also enjoyed poems performed by Nursery, Reception, Y1, and Yr2.

At the end of the day, pupils voted for the best costume, and today, the winners were announced to everyone:

First prize went to:

KF1 Finley - The Gingerbread Man

KF2 Daniel - Postman Pat

Rec Jessie - Bus

Y1 Ben - Doughnut

Y2 Bobby - Pink Flamingo

Y3 Billy- Pyramid and Mummy

Y4 Ellis - Fing Book

Y5 Scarlett - Hansel and Gretal House / Elsie & Daniella - Boy in the Girls Bathroom

Y6 Elia - Mythical Dragon

Every pupil received a £1 book token, a certificate, and a bookmark for their efforts, with the winners getting an additional book token.

A big thank you to Mrs. Cockburn and Mrs. Segal for organising the event, and a special shoutout to our Top Librarian, Mrs. Armstrong, who responded to the school council's requests for more books by purchasing the latest Wimpy Kid and Tom Gates books.

At Livingstone, we love reading so much that we have more events planned, including a visit to Pickled Pepper Book Shop and a visit from the world-famous MC Grammar.

Finally, the poetry performance was so brilliant that next week, the Key Stage 2 classes will get to showcase their recitals.

Red Nose Day Friday 21st March

dm7CAlScGsgEf8

It's that time of year again, and this time we are raising money for Red Nose Day by having a sponsored Spelling Bee.

Each class will be given an adapted list of words to spell. Pupils who want to take part can learn the words and attempt to spell some or all of them in a mini spelling test.

If your child is not a natural speller and they would like to take part in a different way, they can copy the words in their best handwriting.

Another way of taking part in this event is to wear the colour red or any Red Nose merchandise and make a donation.

A letter like this one will be sent home on Monday. Parents/ Carers, if you would like to sponsor the number of words please do. The pupils have two weeks to practise, then we will see what happens on the day!

The children should bring their sponsorship forms before the day and results will be sent home on Red Nose Day. Any money that is raised needs to come in before Friday 4th April.

This letter is from Year 6 - Can Mr Boucon spell the 'On Fire' words???

In fact, can anybody even say the words???
