Parents/Carers WhatsApp

Just a reminder to all parents/carers that the WhatsApp parent groups are for maintaining communication outside of school hours. It is important to focus on constructive feedback on this forum.
If, as a parent/carer, you need to make a complaint, please do so via the main office. By adopting positive and respectful communication with everyone, we can ensure that messages, no matter how negative, are well-received and, where possible, the school will respond to achieve the best possible outcomes.
School Council Cinema Night and Enterprise Stalls

Despite a couple of minor setbacks, the school council managed to put on a very successful fundraising event.
The film was highly entertaining, and all the stallholders proved to be very resourceful in sourcing supplies and enticing customers with their eclectic products.
Thank you again to the very supportive group of parents who helped out: Lina Cavozzi, Charlotte Gosling, Kate Orr, Kristina Theodorou and Vas Petrou, Diane and Mr Sudbury. Also, thank you all the members of staff who stayed after school to look after pupils.
All the stallholders came away with a profit and contributed between 20% and 100% of their takings to charity. Including the £1.00 entry fee and after expenses, nearly £400 was raised.
Congratulations to our School Council members:
- · Year 1: Eden & Vinny
- · Year 2: Benji & Yasmin
- · Year 3: Jack & Rosie
- · Year 4: Gha Khan & Yvette
- · Year 5: Scarlett & Emilia
- · Year 6: Muthara & Ryan
- · KF1: Sergio
- · KF2: Mario
Our first meeting next term will determine which charity/ charities are given the funds raised.

Nursery & Kingfisher Nursery
This week in Nursery and Kingfisher Nursery, we've focused on internet safety and the importance of not sharing personal information with people we don’t know online. We read a story called Chicken Clicking, where a curious chicken buys many things online without the farmer's permission and eventually encounters a fox who doesn't have her best intentions at heart. The children created artwork inspired by the story.
The children have also enjoyed role-playing in our Chinese restaurant and have been reading books about customs and traditions of Asian people around the world who celebrate Lunar New Year.
To reinforce our learning about other countries, cultures and celebrations, you could visit Chinatown, spot the lanterns and other decorations and even try some Asian food! Have a lovely half term!
Reception
Reception have had a great couple of weeks learning about people who help us and the Police. We have been really enjoying role-playing in the police station using all of the dress up and dressing as characters from our focus story 'Cops and Robbers'. They had great questions and fun with PC Lee the school's police officer and have been learning new vocabulary for all of the equipment that the Police use. We have looked at police uniforms and vehicles around the world and have been fully engaged in lots of learning around the topic.
The children continue to make fantastic progress and we are so proud of all of their hard work. Please continue to support their learning at home over the half term using the phonics resources provided. Have a great half term holiday!

We showed excellent gross motor skills and bravery in our special ‘Big P.E' session in the hall! Well done for working so hard this half term! It was fantastic to see all of the effort you put into your brainboosters too. Have a lovely break.

Parent Champions Coffee Morning
Another successful coffee morning took place on Thursday, run by our Parent Champions members. There was a lot of information shared about activities that can be found on the local area for children with SEND. It was wonderful to see Parent Champions from Underhill joining us for that day.
Special thanks to Sylvia, Daniel's Mum, for collating all the information in a newsletter that is easy to access through the QR code below.
Sporting Events
Netball
On Thursday, our netball team played a crucial deciding match, as both teams had the same points in the league pool. The children started off a little cautious, but they quickly found their confidence and showed incredible fighting spirit. With some fantastic shots, we managed to boost our score and stay competitive throughout the game. Although we didn’t win, we are incredibly proud of how the team performed and the effort they put in. Finishing second in our league pool is a huge achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder of our players! Well done to Nadine, Anastasia, Muthara, Medina, Zyan, Albeiro, Anwen, Elsie and Lukas.
Football
Our girls' team played an important match on Wednesday against a team ranked the same as us in our league pool. The first half was evenly matched, with both teams showing great skill and determination. Our players fought hard throughout the game, giving their best effort until the final whistle. It is evident how hard they have been training along with members of the football club. Their perseverance paid off as we secured a well-deserved victory! With this win, we have finished top of our league and are now through to the semi-finals. We are so proud of everyone who attends the after-school clubs and all the efforts that goes into playing as a team. Well done to Anwen, Dotty, Elia, Muthara, Elsie, Nadine, Anastasia, Medina and Xhizela. Wish us luck in the semi-final! Come on, Livingstone!
