July Week 2
Summer Pool Party
Friday 11th July
The Summer Pool Party is taking place next Tuesday and pupils taking part will need to come into school ready to get wet.
This is a non-uniform day, and they will need a towel, a swimming costume or shorts and t-shirt as well as a change of clothes. They will also need some pocket money to spend if they would like to buy from the stalls. Please remember sun hats and sun cream as it is predicted to be a sunny day.

Enterprise Stalls
As part of our upcoming Pool Party, pupils in Year 5 & Year 6 have the opportunity to run a stall during the event!
Pupils will be limited to selling 20 items and have to bring in their products into school at least 1 day before the event (Monday 14th). This will allow us to evaluate the products before they are made available for purchase.
Please note the following guidelines for the stalls:
- The product has to be made by the child/ren.
- Handmade cakes and biscuits are welcome but must be nut-free and packaged for takeaway.
- Sweets are not permitted for sale.
- Ice creams and lollies are part of the pool party experience and therefore cannot be sold at the stalls.
This decision has been made in response to feedback from our previous event.
KS1 Sports Festival
The sun was shining on Wednesday as a group of our KS1 children set off to attend an exciting multi-sports festival this week. The pupils took part in a range of fun activities, including dribbling, tennis games, golf skills, frisbee, and target challenges. Staff at the event praised our children for their excellent behaviour and enthusiasm throughout the day. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to enjoy being active, try new sports, and represent the school with pride.
Nursery and KFE
Another busy week with amazing imaginative role play in Nursery and KFE! We have been visited by pirates who have kindly shared their treasure with us as well as maps where 'x marks the spot' for more treasure to be dug up! We have read many stories about pirates and the seaside and did a great job counting backwards from ten whilst reading the book Ten Little Pirates.
The children explored sound using musical instruments and singing along to our song of the week 'Over the deep blue sea'. In phonics, we have learned the sounds /e/ for egg and /r/ for robot.
If, for some reason, your child does not have a change of clothes in Nursery, please make sure you bring one in, as they will need to get changed once they are wet. Please read the Pool Party section of the newsletter for more information.
Have a lovely weekend!
Reception
Reception have been working hard practicing their lines for the show! We are talking more about the changes in our own history and the changes for the future including for Year 1. They had a great time in their new classroom meeting their teacher officially and have asked great questions to find out more. We are looking forward to a fantastic last full week next week with Graduation shows, picnics and parties along side finishing up our amazing learning journey. Hope to see you all at the picnic next Wednesday and at the shows!

Jessica for kind and learning her lines
Ollie for coming to school with a smile
Yoan for great progress in all areas
Year 1
Year 1 had a fabulous time at Bekonscot Model Village. They enjoyed learning all about the history of the village, spotting interesting miniature models, playing on the the pirate ship in the playground and climbing aboard our own train ride! We read and acted out Croc n Bird in our English lessons. The children are enjoying our grammar lessons and can tell you all about what nouns and verbs are. In Maths, we finished our assessments this week and we are so proud of the progress and achievement of the children.

Our achievement awards go to Melisa and Leo for their Gold standard Brain-boosters! Thank you for the time and effort you and your parents put towards these activities.
Year 2
In Maths, we have recognised different turns and used positional language to describe movement and directions. In English, the children created their own marvellous medicine by creating a set of instructions using imperative verbs, commas, conjunctions and adverbs. Year 2 love art. We have buddings artists in class as the children created their own collage inspired by the seaside. The children have also completed some end of term assessments. Miss Gordon, Mrs Sehgal and myself are very proud! Year 2 have made exceptional progress.
Homework
No homework but you can keep the White Rose book if you would like to finish it. We do not need these returned.

As everyone has wowed the Year 2 team this term, we would like to celebrate everyone's achievements so this week's award goes to the whole class :)
Kingfisher 1
Maths:
This week, we explored fractions, focusing on finding fractions of quantities and objects. The children enjoyed sharing counters equally into four pots to discover what a quarter is. They learned that four quarters make a whole and demonstrated excellent teamwork during these practical activities. A particular highlight was making jam sandwiches, cutting them into quarters, and—best of all—getting to eat them!
English:
Our learning took a swashbuckling turn as we delved into the world of pirates! Through lively songs, engaging stories, and imaginative roleplay, the children brought pirate adventures to life. Everyone looked absolutely fabulous dressed up as pirates, and the classroom was filled with excitement and creativity.
This week's award goes to Sergio for his positive attitude towards his transition session in Kingfisher 2.
Well done Sergio!
Year 3
This week, our Year 3 pupils enjoyed a fantastic class trip to Alexandra Palace, tying in beautifully with their geography topic on hills and mountains.
The children embraced the challenge of walking up the hill to the palace, where they were rewarded with breath-taking views of the London skyline. In the glorious sunshine, they took time to sketch the skyline, capturing the city's iconic features from this viewpoint.
The day wasn’t just about learning—it was also packed with fun! The children enjoyed a picnic lunch, followed by lively parachute games on the grass. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to play and enjoy the outdoors together.
It was truly a lovely day of learning and fun, and we’re so proud of how engaged and enthusiastic the children were throughout the trip.

Daniel for his positive attitude and good listening in lessons.
Alex for always doing incredible homework
Toby for always showing kindness to his class mates.
Year 4
It has been a busy week in Year 4! This week, the children have been recapping fronted adverbials, expanded noun phrases and direct speech in preparation for their long write next week based upon 'The Firework maker's daughter'. In D&T, the hummus or yogurt-based dips were made - we hope you enjoyed them! They've also been busy rehearsing for the end of year show.
Please let the Office know ASAP if your child is not participating in the Thursday night show as we will need to change the Y4 dance performance to allow for the absences.
There is no homework but please keep your child practising their times tables - they've progressed so much that it would be a shame for them to be forgotten due to a large period of time without practising them.

This week's achievement award goes to the whole of Year 4 for being a fabulous class all year! We are very proud of all of their achievements!
Year 5
This week the children have been busy rehearsing for Oliver - I'm sure you'll be blown away by their wonderful singing and dancing.
In English, they're writing their final piece of the year: an emotive ending of Pig Heart Boy where Cam meets his new- born sibling. They practised direct speech and subordinate clauses to show emotion.
In Science, they learned about the life cycles of humans and other mammals.
Homework
There is no more homework this year, but please encourage them to keep practising the songs for the show.

This week's awards go to Holly for her fantastic direct speech work in English, and to Mikolaj for always working hard and doing his best. Well done!
Year 6
This week, Year 6 continued their swimming sessions at the local leisure centre. It has been fantastic to see the progress and determination shown by all the children over the past two weeks. Unsurprisingly, Oliver! rehearsals are still in full swing! The children thoroughly enjoyed Thursday’s dress rehearsal and are now buzzing with excitement for the live performance next week. We have also been completing our end-of-year reflections, thinking about the things we’ve enjoyed, what we’ve done well and the areas we’d like to improve as we look ahead to the future.

This week's achievement awards go to Sean and Mario for the progress they've made during swimming
Kingfisher 2
We have had a busy week in Kingfisher 2 this week with trips and rehearsals for the show. In Maths we have been looking at shape-lines of symmetry and angles.
In English, we have written about how to look after a pet, thinking about what they eat, what is needed to keep them healthy and entertained.

This week's award goes to Mario for being a brilliant police officer in the Year 6 show. Well done Mario.
Year 5 Mixed Football
