  • Another Day of Sun [from La La Land]
  • TaReTika [an Indian song]

Maths Impact Meetings Success

This week we had two Maths impact meetings, one in Year 5 and one in Year 2. In these meetings parents and and children work together to learn and do the maths problem on board. The teacher talks about all the things they do in school like part whole methods, dienes, place value and division. Reception did dice games and numerical monsters whilst Year 4 did part-whole-model conversion to fractions and multiplication tests .Ever heard of the student becomes the master? Its kind of like that. Its great learning together with other people don't you think? We can learn so much from other people and we should appreciate that. Loads of parents came and had a great time. Thank you to all the parents who came (what an amazing turnout!) and all the children who behaved fabulously.

World Book Day Fun

As you might already know, World Book Day provides a fantastic opportunity to focus on reading for pleasure, supporting children's autonomy in book choice, and embedding a habit of reading that brings a wide range of benefits. The previous one, which was on 6th of March 2024, not only were there flashy and bright costumes that have been made with a huge effort, there was also a catwalk to show everybody their fabulous costumes! We also did a book swap, which involves donating a book that you don't need anymore and swap it with another book that another person has brought in to swap. Additionally, KS1 learned and performed poems like Popcorn, Alligator Pie and Brush Your Teeth by Raffi. KS2 did the same thing a few days later and performed Sick, If The World Was Crazy, Oh The Places You'll Go and The Dragon Who Ate The School. This was a newsletter report about World Book Day. I hope you are feeling very 'lovely jubbly'. Have a lovely rest of your day!

Yr 2 Mixed Football Festival

PMwDjAH8mM7nJU

On the 24th of March, there was a special event at Compton School . . . it was a football festival! A few children from KS1 got on to the minibus and drove to the festival to compete against other schools! But there was one thing that made it different to other competitions you might have heard of. That difference is . . . the scores weren’t recorded! It was an event that was organized by an organization called BPSS (Barnet Partnership for School Sport) to celebrate the fun of playing football. We played against St Catherines, Whitings Hill, St Johns (N11) and Manorside. We won 1 match, drew one match and – unfortunately – lost 2 matches. However, we had some amazing players. Ben scored two goals!

Let's have a big cheer for Ben, Benji, Denat, Tameen, Arshin, Sonny, Issac and all the people who helped!

KF1 & KF2 Bowling Trip

zr1IQbrml2MGhp

Last Friday, KF1 and KF2 went Bowling in Finchley with Teachers for an amazing bowling experience. They had hotdogs and chicken nuggets for lunch. They were very supportive and independent and some of them even got a spare. They enjoyed messing with the scoreboards and changing their names and pictures. One of their favourite parts was the food- even the staff loved it! In the end the children said that they really enjoyed it. Thank you to all the staff who allowed this to happen and came along because this trip would not have been able to happen without them.

Rugby Festival Borough Champions

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

Tag Rugby Club (which is hosted on a Monday afternoon by Mr Boucon) have been practising really hard for an upcoming tournament. So,on the 18th of March 2025, a selection of pupils from Year 5 and 6 competed in a tag rugby tournament of a selection of schools in Barnet.

First, Livingstone played with the schools in their pools. The first school we played against was Brunswick Park where the team won, 2-0. The next school was Churchill -which was a difficult much- but none the less Livingstone persevered and won 2-1. The third school was Orion which they won 1-0 and went on to their 4th and final school, Foulds School. But, they won 2-1 and got into the semi-finals!!!

In the semi-finals they played Moss Hall which took a lot of work but they... WON (1-0) AND GOT INTO THE FINALS!!! In their last match, against St. Catherines. It took a lot of hard work as they were an impeccable school.

KS1 Sports Festival

fyeekt7P96vCcW

In March, KS1 went to a sports festival at Ark Pioneer. How lucky!

They played mini games like football, collecting cones and many more. They had lots of fun and said that they enjoyed it very much! They took pack lunches with them and plenty of water. Since we all know that we have to stay HYDRATED!

Years 3 and 4 Football Tournament

At Livingstone we do lots of sports: Tag rugby, Netball, Cricket, Athletics and Multi-sports. But today I am talking about football at Livingstone primary school. As you might know at Livingstone, we take our girls and mixed football team on different days to power league, but we also compete in the Year 3 and Year 4 power league. This year all of the power leagues were at Compton Secondary school. This years' year 3 and year 4 team consists of

Milo, Zachariah, Sienna, Lola, Eli, Zachary, Ellis, Leo, Toby and Gino.

They played the schools:

Osidge, St.Jonhs N11, Alma, Manovside and Dangrove.

In the end, they lost 2, drew 2 and won 1. Well done to Eli for scoring a goal. Thank you for all our teachers for helping the football teams this far.

The Final - Livingstone vs Foulds

qLidiQ8rOgvWCS

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS!

On Tuesday the girl football team had a VERY important match against Foulds!

They travelled to Compton power league and started the match at 4:00pm. It was a very tight game, and we did have the sun on our side. Though with no goals in the first quarter, we were looking down until in the second quarter Dotty took a corner; the other team blocked it... and the second one! But on the last corner we took, Dotty hit a direct pass to Elsie's feet making it easy to hit it to the back of the net and take the girls team to victory for the THIRD TIME IN A ROW!!! Thank you to Mr Thomas, Mr Madle and Miss Fairly for taking and helping to organising this wonderful event. But most importantly thank you to all parents, carers and teachers that came to support them that night. Well done too: Elsie, Dotty, Anwen, Daniella, Xhizela , Nadine, Muthara, and Elia.

Science Week a 'Big Hit' with the Pupils

BUDDING SCIENTISTS CELEBRATE BRITISH SCIENCE WEEK 2025

During British Science Week, we celebrated the theme of change and adaptation. We explored it through fun experiments and exciting challenges.

Across the year groups, we created our own hybrid animals and matched animals to its facts and adaptions.

We also had a special assembly all about science week! Everyone learned about Darwin's finches which were birds that came from the Galapogos Islands which he studied for years. He discovered they all had different beaks for different food types.

Science is all around us and this week has shown us just how fun and exciting it can be!

Bye Bye Ducklings!

kcjEA_sPmnFkGo

The Reception class have had a wonderful experience with the ducklings. Watching them grow and learning to care for them has been an incredible journey for our pupils. The joy and excitement they brought to our school community have been truly heart-warming.

As the ducklings move on to their new home, we want to extend a special thank you to Arianna C's Grandad for kindly offering to rehome them.
