Easter Newsletter
Friday 03rd April
The last couple of weeks have been very challenging. It seems incredible to think that the schools have only been closed for two weeks!
Please do not worry if your children have not managed to complete all of the work that has been available to them over this period. The work is there to help pupils engage with learning and to provide structure to the day. The learning grids and VLE are there to help, and are not meant as a substitute for school.
By now, all families should have been contacted by class teachers, either by VLE or by telephone. If you haven’t heard from us, please telephone the school and leave a message on the answerphone; we will get back to you on Monday.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of Mr and Mrs Bach, the parents of Lucas in Reception, we have been able to order 27 computers for the school, and so make laptops available to families who have none in the household. We are extremely grateful to Mr and Mrs Bach for making this possible.
As a school with an in-house catering company we are not able to offer vouchers to families eligible for FSM, but from the 20th April parents can collect packed lunches or food parcels from the school.
The staff of Livingstone and colleagues at the local authority have been working hard trying to ensure that there has been some level of continuity during this unprecedented time in our history. I would like to take this opportunity to thank them for what has been achieved despite the difficulties.
Finally, I hope everyone has good Easter break and I am hoping that the selection of work I have included at the end of the letter helps to raise our spirits.
Happy Easter and please remember to follow government guidelines in keeping safe.
