June Week 2
Friday 17th June
Parents/Carers are invited to our Family Picnic from 12 o’clock onwards on Friday 24th June. Everyone is welcome and the picnic will be followed by an open day of Forest School Activities.
School Council will be selling ice creams and lollies and there will be a Fair Trade Stall for families to bring in ethical non-perishable food donations. A programme of activities will be sent home next week with more details.
The Summer Fair was an outstanding success and we made £2,300. Thank you to all the pupils, parents, staff and friends of the school who helped and attended. Congratulations to Harry T in 2AP who won the Kindle and Ella in 2E who won the giant hamper. The music at the event was a great hit and everyone was in awe of the ages of the musicians. The effort put in by the PTA who organised the event and volunteer helpers was phenomenal and their work was appreciated by all who attended the event and everyone a great time.
London is currently experiencing an outbreak of measles. Many people underestimate its significance - measles is highly infectious and can lead to deafness, pneumonia and swelling of the brain. The vaccination programme that the NHS recommends for all children includes two vaccinations for measles, mumps and rubella. The NHS recommends that children have their first injection soon after their first birthday and a second dose – together with the pre-school booster – at the age of about three years and four months. You can find more information about these vaccinations and the diseases they protect against on www.nhs.uk Natalie Daley Health Improvement Officer, Barnet and Harrow Public Health Team
Travelling books are bringing their books to our school from Monday 27th to Wednesday 29th June. Come and join us after school on Monday. Tuesday and Wednesday in the library where we will have a great selection of books for sale. Any books purchased will earn free books for the school and if you buy 2 books you get a 3rd one free.
Due to circumstance beyond our control Yr 2 AP and 2E did not get to Clacton and despite all our efforts ended up coming back to school very late. Thank you to all the staff for coping well under stress and for all the pupils who behaved brilliantly. Apologies to parents and carers and thank you for being very patient and understanding despite the difficult circumstances. The trip has been rescheduled for a later date and letters are coming home today.
