Copthall Field Events: Livingstone Victorious AGAIN!
Friday 22nd May
The first event of the day was the field events where the year 5 and year 6 pupils (that were chosen) compete against the other schools in long jump, shotput, vortex and speed bounce. The year 5's went first and Renee came 1st in long jump and George came 6th out of 14 others. Next was the year 5 shotput where you push through a heavy ball and Lianna came 3rd. In vortex Yvette came 1st and Zachariah came 3rd. In speed bounce, Gia Khang came 1st too. Well done to all the year 5's because they were all really nervous but the outcome said otherwise. Now onto the year 6's, in long jump Elsie came 1st jumping 3.9 meters. Then Soroiyan came 1st and Mikolaj came 3rd in shotput. Next was vortex Anwen came 1st and through 29.2meters. When it was the boys turn there was a boy who won through nearly the whole rugby pitch, but Skye did really well and got 2nd. Last was the speed bounce where Kevin came 1st and Dotty came 3rd but the people who won, they were not doing two foot to two foot which is the whole point.
Congratulations to all those who competed in the field events... They came first and won the shield!!! To read about the rest of the day go to section on the track and golf events by Eva below.

Girls Final vs St Catherine's
On Friday the 24th of April Livingstone's amazing girls football team played in a final against St Catherine's for the Barnet league. In the first half they were giving their absolute all and with a corner from Elsie, Holly scored our first goal!!! 🥳🥳 This brought us to play even harder and caused another goal by Elsie. We all played very well especially with our cheerleader Xhizela on the side line encouraging us all.
In the second half they played really well and managed to score another goal from Elsie! This made it 2-1 to us. We played incredible Football. Well done to Dotty, Elsie ,Daniella, Anwen , Soroiyan, Eva, Ryann, Holly , Amelia and our mascot Xhizela!!!!!😀WELL DONE GIRLSSSSS!!!!!😆😁😄😃😀

Another Girls final vs St Catherine's Cup
Once again, back to back, the Livingstone girls team played against Saint Catherine's in another final, one last time with it being their final game of the year together!! Both teams played brilliantly in the first half, shot after shot and many counterattacks. The girls were exhausted and finally got to have a break as the half time whistle was blown with the score ending 0-0 in the first half. Stepping onto the field with the crowd roaring it gave the girls a burst of energy and that was exactly what they needed. After pushing and pushing to get that goal Saint Catherine's hit it out for a corner. Elsie stepped up to take the corner and placed it perfectly into the box. With all the chaos happening in the box after some amazing saves from the Saint Catherine's keeper, Dotty slotted it bottom corner, giving Livingstone the lead. Although 1 goal wasn't enough for the girl to slide out of this finals safety due to the battering of the other team. Coming up to the final five minutes of the game Saint Catherine's was getting closer and closer to a goal but then Anwen received the ball just after the half way and slapped it into the top corner. But that still wasn't enough the other team kept on pushing for a goal and with 2 last minute shots to equalise, Soroiyan showed everyone why she's Livingstone's goal keeper with 2 show stopping saves. Then the full time whistle blew and the crowd erupted with cheers and claps and Livingstone once again became the cup champions !! Thank you to everyone who came to support us and all the teachers who organised and drove us there !! WELL DONE GIRLS !!

SATs by Lukas
Last week Y6 started their SATs. Although they were very stressful, our wonderful Y6s worked really hard on the tests and put loads of effort into it, achieving fantastic scores. There were six tests which were spread over the course of four days:
Monday - SPAG (grammar, punctuation and spelling)
Tuesday - Comprehension
Wednesday - Arithmetic and Reasoning Paper 1
Thursday - Reasoning Paper 2
We are all very proud of their determination and perseverance and how they pushed themselves further even when they thought they couldn't.
I would like to thank all the teachers who taught us from Nursery to Y6 and helped us prepare for this horrendous task.

Reception Farm Trip by Amelia
On Thursday May 14th Reception went on a trip to lee valley farm. At the farm they saw chickens, guinea pigs, ponies, rabbits, goats, which they fed and some funny sounding turkeys. 'It was so fun!' said one of the reception children. Some of their favorite things were the bouncy pillow and the adventure play ground. To me the coolest part was when Mr Sudbury taught them how to whistle with a blade of grass and the turkeys even responded. Looks like Mr Sudbury can speak turkey. Thank you Mrs Feshias, Ms Edwards, Mrs Phipps, Diane and Mr Sudbury for making this happen.
Year 3 and 4 Cuffley Camp Trip
In April, Year 3 and 4 went to Cuffley Camp trip and did outdoor skills and orienteering. It focuses on team-building, survival skills and high-adrenaline activities in nature. There are high-ropes, low-ropes , climbing wall, archery, problem- solving, night line, team challenges and many more! One of the Year 4 children said,"It was good and really high. We walked a lot!"

T1 Rugby
The T1 rugby season has begun and the whole rugby club went to a big tournament on Monday the 21st April. T1 rugby is a newly improved version of regular Tag Rugby as we don't use tags anymore - we just have to touch our opponents. Mr Boucon and Mr Madle decided to take the whole of the club since last time only one team got to go. The two teams were Livingstone A and Livingstone B and we played with no substitutes so everyone got to play the full time of each game. Livingstone A was made up of Anwen, Elsie, Holly, Dotty, Daniella, Soroiyan and Kevin, who won all their games. Livingstone B was made up of Eva, Zak, Amelia, Alya, Ellis and Sienna, who won 2, drew 2 and lost 2. Everyone who attended and had lots of fun at this fantastic experience and played immensely well. Well done to everyone that came and to Mr Boucon and Mr Madle for making this possible! Plus in the end we got to meet a professional Rugby player who played for the Women's England Rugby team called Poppy! We are looking forward to going to play for Barnet at Twickenham Stadium!

Year 1 Trip to Buckingham Palace
Last Monday, Y1 visited Buckingham Palace. Firstly, some pupils arrived at school to take the minibus to Cockfosters train station, while others travelled directly to the station by car or bus. After a long train journey, they arrived in London and, following a short walk, reached Buckingham Palace to admire the surroundings. Year 1 even got to see the King's throne! Overall they really enjoyed their trip to Buckingham Palace .

KF2 visit Hertfordshire Zoo
Kingfisher 2 went to Hertfordshire zoo and they really enjoyed it. There were many different animals including a big cat area with lions and tigers, red pandas and many more. There was a dinosaur area with a miniature train in it. Dilan said it was excellent and Andreas said it was amazing. Mr Fisher thought it was exhausting and tiring. There were some big slides that they were excited about and their experience was wonderful. In the dinosaur area, their favourite one was the Dilophosaurus which spits out water and got them wet. The whole trip was amazing and thank you for the teachers who helped and looked after the children.
