November Week 4

Thursday 24th November

Advent Calendar Raffle

On Monday we are having a giant Advent Calendar Raffle. The Christmas tree will be decorated with lots of mini envelopes containing the winning numbers. Each envelope costs £1 and each one contains a prize, some big some small.  Please send in a £1.00 or more if you would like your child to participate.  The money raised will be split between the school and a charity to be decided with the school council.

Congratulations to Billy Ward and Ella Benneh for being elected as Junior Travel Ambassadors this year. Also a big thank you to our last year’s JTAs, Jack Church and Bobby Coombes, who contributed towards us getting new scooter parking for the school.  You will find a brand new mushroom shaped scooter pod next to the bike shed, and a scooter rail against the wall outside the school office. Please make sure you park your scooters safely in these and be considerate towards other people’s scooters. We look forward to running further initiatives this year to improve awareness of road safety and sustainable travel.

Our MacMillan Coffee Morning and Cake Sale raised £294. Thank you to everyone who contributed by baking and sending in cakes. And thank you also to everyone who came to the coffee morning and bought cakes and who made it a special event in the school calendar. We hope to run the event in the same way next year as it was our most successful coffee morning.

Yesterday, Livingstone football team played against Woodridge. It was a tight match but in the end we won.  A brilliant 3-2 victory for Livingstone.  Jerome scored two goals and Charlie scored one.  Bradley nearly scored the goal of the season.  He hit the post after chesting it down and volleying the ball from halfway up the pitch. Finally, Aaron was given ‘Man of the Match’ for playing brilliantly in his first appearance for the team.  Thank you to Pete and Mr Gardner for coaching us and the rest of the school for supporting us.

Medical, dental and optician’s appointments should, whenever possible, be arranged outside school hours.  If this is not possible please ensure that your child is present for BOTH registrations  (8.50 and 1.30).  Failure to be present at registration affects both your child's individual attendance level and whole school attendance levels.

Please let the office know if you would like your child/ren to have a Christmas Dinner on Tuesday 13th December, if they normally have packed lunch.
